Hi, I’m jill day.

I started practicing yoga at Uni. I remember thinking the first class was really boring. Luckily, I came back, and teachers started talking about breathing and I realised, I didn’t really know how to breathe. They spoke about listening to my body and I had never done that before. The more they spoke the more I started discovering a peace within myself and a knowing there was more to life. It felt like magic, and I was hooked.

I went to India to study yoga for a year with various teachers. I did my first teacher training there at Yoga Vidya Dham and finished a 10-day Vipassana meditation course.

I went on to do a professional mentorship in Los Angeles, CA at YogaWorks. There I had the privilege to learn from Lisa Walford, Annie Carpenter, Jasmine Lieb and my mentor, Julie Klienman. Donna Farhi is another teacher I study with, as much as I can. She has taught me movement principles and the importance of an individualised explorative approach to teaching.

Exploring and connecting to my breath and body continue to help me manage my anxiety, be a better parent and feel healthier about my relationship with food. I am more present in my life, happier and feel more myself and alive.

This understanding has led me to becoming a counsellor and supporting others to connect with their bodies and breath; to help deepen their own understanding of themselves and the lives they can create.

I used to think yoga would make my life perfect. It hasn’t. But it has given me tools that help me every day. I want to share those tools and stay present with my clients and discover what we can learn together.
